　　But finding the time for what is most important in life is not always easy. It sometimes feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day.

　　But even if it may not feel like it, there are often ways to improve how you use your time. In this article I’ll share some of the most effective strategies I have found for doing so and for shaking yourself out of a rut and reconsider how you actually spend your time.

　　1. Focus.

　　With a lack of focus on what is most important in your life it becomes easy to spend too much time and energy on aimless actions or work on things that aren’t really that important but you do out of old habit or other unhelpful reasons. To become more focused:
　　对生活中重要的事情缺乏注意力会让你很容易把时间或精力浪费在漫无目的的行为或不是很重要的事情上，而你做这些事情往往是出于习惯或其他借口。要想变得专心：
　　Write down your top 4 priorities where you see them every day. To keep your attention in the right place it is essential to remind yourself every day of what is truly most important to you. So think about it and reduce what is important in your life at this moment to the top 4 most important priorities. Write those four things down on two notes and post one in your workspace and one your night table.

　　Reduce distractions. Ask yourself: what are the 3 most common distractions that keep me from doing my work in a focused way? Figure out how you can prevent those things from distracting you. It could be by shutting the door to your office, by putting your phone on silent mode for an hour at a time or by having notifications for email shut off.

　　Find balance. If you just work and work you will quickly become unfocused and the longer the week drags on the more tired you become. To work smarter try using a timer - on your cell phone or use an egg-timer - and set it for 45 minutes. Then put in a drawer or somewhere where you can’t see it.

　　One of the smarter ways to simplify your life and to free up time is to set limits. Here are a few key areas that you can set powerful limits for:

　　Your daily input. Reduce the number of blogs, newsletters, magazines, book clubs, podcasts, TV-shows etc. you follow. Just keep the ones you are really getting something out of.

　　Email. Just check and process your email during one chunk of time once per day. Instead of checking it 10 times or more each day.

　　Social activities. Write down a list of the social activities you are involved in after school or work. Maybe you are involved in a club or an activity that it is not as fun or rewarding as it used to be. Maybe you want to rearrange your priorities a bit to focus on something else this year.

　　What else can you eliminate or minimize besides the things listed above? Some meetings at work or in school? Redditing or some online forum you hang out on a lot?

　　Question and reconsider your own habits regularly instead of moving along in the same old tracks just because it what you usually do. See if you want make changes to make more room for things you would honestly get more out of.

　　4. Find unnoticed free time in your day.

　　One final tip. There is often quite a bit of open travel- or waiting-time during a year. What will you use your such time for this year? Perhaps you would like to read more while riding the train or listen to audio books while waiting for a meeting to start or while you are out driving your car.

If only there were a way to make all the rude people go and live on an island together so we didn’t have to deal with them!要是能有办法把所有粗鲁的人都赶到一个岛上该有多好，这样我们就再也不用跟这种人烦了！

But wait a sec. There are smarter ways to deal with rude people! Here are my top 10.不过也别担心，对付粗鲁的人不乏妙招，请看下面这10个方法吧。

1. Remember, sometimes the rude person is you.1. 别忘了你自己可能也有粗鲁的时候。

Maybe not today, but there’ve been times when you were rude. And you’re not a bad person. So next time somebody’s rude to you, remember that they’re human just like you, and rudeness alone doesn’t mean they’re a bad person either.不一定是今天，但你肯定有过失礼的时候。不过这并不表示你品行恶劣。所以，下次要是有人冒犯你，别忘了他们跟你一样也是普通人，不要单凭粗鲁就认定他们是坏人。

2. Don’t take it personally (even if it’s personal).2. 即便真是针对你个人的，也不要太往心里去。

When someone’s rude—especially if they’re making personal comments about you—it’s easy to get upset. But you have a choice about how you react. Take the power out of their rudeness by choosing to treat it as their problem, not your problem.要是有人不讲理，甚至指名道姓针对你，那你肯定会感到非常难受。但是，你仍然可以选择如何去面对：你就想不讲理是他们自己的问题好了，跟你无关。

3. Find out why.3. 找出原因。

People have their own reasons for being rude. Perhaps they’ve had a bad day, or they’re in a hurry and think there isn’t time for manners. Perhaps they don’t even realize how rude they’ve been. You won’t know until you ask! Stay calm and simply say, “I think that’s pretty rude. Why are you treating me like this?” The answer may surprise you.人们粗鲁总归会有原因，或许他们这一天很不顺，或者比较匆忙，觉得没必要讲求客套礼节，又或者他们根本就没意识到自己失礼了。你只有问了才会知道是什么情况啊！所以，先冷静地问一下：“我觉得你这样很不讲理，为什么要这样？”说不定你会知道很意外的理由。

4. Be objective and analyze the rudeness.4. 保持客观，了解对方为何粗鲁。

So somebody was rude to you. What did they do or say? Was there any sense in it? If you view the situation objectively, you’ll realize that most rudeness is senseless, so you can cheerfully ignore it. On the rare occasions when there’s logic behind the rude behavior, staying objective lets you address the root of the problem instead of the rudeness concealing it.好吧，有人对你很粗鲁。那么他们说了或做了什么？他们的说法或做法有道理吗？如果客观判断整个情况，你会发现大部分不讲理都是毫无意义的，所以干脆无视掉吧。在极少数情况下，粗鲁言行背后也存在客观理由；那么这时保持客观则能让你从根本上解决问题，而不会被表面的不讲理所迷惑。

Do you feel like yelling at the rude people around you? Don’t. Joining in the drama will only escalate the situation. Whether you’re dealing with a drama queen who’s doing it on purpose, or an inconsiderate oaf whose rudeness is unintentional, keep your dignity intact by not letting rude behavior provoke you into a tantrum of your own.你有没有觉得特想朝不讲理的人吼过去？千万别这么做。跟着起哄只会让情况更严重。不管对方是故意无理取闹的刁蛮女，还是无意莽撞的马大哈，都请维持好你的尊严，不要受粗俗言行干扰而勃然动怒。

6. Let it drop and walk away.6. 直接无视地走开。

Rudeness is hurtful, but removing yourself from the situation is the fastest and surest way to avoid more rude behavior from the same person. Walk away, even if they’re still talking to you! If they’re a stranger, you’ll never have to deal with them again. If they’re a friend or colleague, they’ll soon learn that being rude to you gets them exactly nowhere (and maybe that will prompt them to be nicer next time).不讲理很伤人，不过主动摆脱那个环境绝对是避免受到同一个人无礼对待的最快最好方法。直接走开吧，管他是不是还在背后说你呢！如果对方是陌生人，那你反正以后再也不会跟他们打交道；如果是朋友或同事，他们肯定会发现这么做没啥好处，而且或许以后他们会变得对你更好呢。

7. Consider offering help.7. 想想能否提供帮助。

Some rudeness is a simple case of bad manners. But often, a person who’s rude to you does so because they feel frustrated about something—and if it’s within your power to resolve their frustration, you may see them switch from rudeness to gratitude in seconds. A word of warning, though: only offer help if you can provide it immediately, as an offer of help “later on” can add to their feelings of frustration.有些人没礼貌纯粹只是习惯不好。但一般情况下，对方对你不礼貌或许只是因为遇到了不顺心的事儿。如果你有能力帮忙解决的话，或许他们一下子就能从粗鲁无礼变成感激涕零了。当然还得提醒一句：只能提供那种可以立刻兑现的帮助，不然，“以后帮忙”会让对方更加心烦气躁。

8. Understand rudeness as a habit.8. 明白粗鲁也是一种习惯。

Some people are rude simply because they’re always rude. Once rudeness becomes a habit, it can be difficult to shake off even if they truly want to behave better. Habitual rudeness should never be taken personally; it’s just a pattern that’s hard to break. Which brings us to the next point—有些人没礼貌，是因为他们一贯就这样。一旦养成了没礼貌的坏习惯，就算真心想改也很难改掉了。永远不要把对方习惯性的粗鲁太当回事儿，他们只是本性难移罢了。这也涉及到了下面这一点——

9. Don’t try to force a change.9. 不要尝试去改变。

You can’t make someone be polite if they want to be rude. In fact, trying to force a change in their behavior will often make them behave worse instead of better. Sometimes your best option is to accept that their rudeness is not your fault and let them find their own solutions.如果对方想要粗鲁，你再怎么努力也无法让他们变得讲理。事实上，尝试纠正对方行为的话，最终只会让他们表现得更恶劣。有时你最好的选择就是接受对方的无礼不是你的问题，让他们好自为之呗。

2. Smile.微笑

In a world where smart phones rule and it's not just possible, but normal, to have entire conversations without ever looking someone in the eye, it can be heart-stopping, wonderful and double-take-worthy to lock eyes with someone grinning. Maybe you have a few shirts you don't wear anymore or a few children's books you can bear to part with. The thing about giving a little is that when everyone gives a little, suddenly it turns into a lot. Be a part of that lot.你整理自己的衣橱，对吧？很好。你不用非得写一张50万的支票捐给慈善机构来帮助他人（但是如果你这样做，那当然相当好！ ）。也许你有几件不再穿的衬衫，或有几本可以舍弃的童书。虽然只付出一点点，但当每个人都付出一点点时，就会积少成多。来成为多的一部分吧。

4. Get in touch. Then listen.保持联系，然后倾听
Maybe a grandparent is chomping at the bit to hear about your adventures, or maybe an old friend had a really bad day, maybe your mom wishes you'd ring her up more often. Get on the line. You remember that your iPhone can make calls, right? Get in touch with those people that are dying to hear from you (because someone definitely is). Then, ask: How are you doing? What's new? These questions have such few syllables, but their depth is endless.也许你的爷爷奶奶正迫不及待地想听你的历险，也许一个老友过了糟糕的一天，也许你的妈妈希望你多给她打个电话。联系他们吧。你还记得你的iPhone能打电话，对吗？和那些很想和你联系的人打个电话吧。然后问问：你怎么样了？最近发生了什么事儿？虽然这些问题只有几个音节，但是这些问题的深度是无止境的。

5. Sort your problems.把问题排序
Let's face it: There's a lot of bad stuff in the world. It can be a scary place, and we've all got problems we would be a whole lot happier without. But experiment with putting your problems into perspective -- or boxes: That breakup? Missing a really important deadline at work? Hurt feelings? Losing someone close to you? Probably worth some self-pity. That stain on your shirt? Not so much. Let go of what you can. This is the best kind of multitasking! Whenever you get a little, give a little. We all creep people's Instagram and Twitter feeds... and there's nothing wrong with wanting to be the best version of you. But you're you for a reason, and there's no one better at being you than you are! A little self-acceptance goes a long way. Your confidence will melt into other people and make them feel comfortable in their own skin too.我们都喜欢看别人在Instagram和推特上的内容…,想成为最好的自己也没什么错。但是你就是你，没人比做你做得更出色的了！一点点儿自我接受，就能走很远。你的自信会逐渐融入他人，让他们也感到自信。

8. Use please and thank you.用“请”和“谢谢”
Not to sound like your grandmother (go ahead and put your elbows on the table!), but the smallest ways to show your gratitude are these little words. They take zero effort to say, but the impact is huge. Aren't you thankful someone held the door for you when your hands were full? Tell them!不是说听起来要像你的奶奶（快点，把胳膊肘放到桌子上！），但是表达你的感激之情的最简单的方式莫过于这些简单的词汇。说这些话又不费劲，但是影响却是相当大的。当你两手满满，有人给你开门时，你不是很感激他们？告诉他们！

9. Support someone else.支持他人
You know that friend who is trying to promote their new album, or start that business? You don't always have to chip in financially to be a backer -- you just have to believe in something! Lend your support when and where you can. Whether it's as simple as a retweet on Twitter or tossing a few extra bucks toward a worthy cause, show someone you believe in what they're doing. Not only will they be super-motivated, but they'll pass it on.你知道你的那个朋友在宣传他们的新唱片，或开了一家新公司？你不用每次都出资——你只需去相信他们！无论何时何地，只要你能帮助他们，就伸出你的手吧。无论是在推特上的一条转发，还是因为某个值得的原因投上一些钱，让他们看看你相信他们做的事情。他们不仅仅会受到鼓舞，而且还会把这份正能量传递下去。

What's the thing that lingers on your heart -- that you just can't stop daydreaming about? Do the thing you would do if you could do anything. It's called your passion. And it's what you should be doing.什么东西徘徊在你的心间——以至于你总是在不断地去梦想它？如果你能为它做点儿事情，那就做吧。这就叫做激情。这也是你应该去做的事情。

Sometimes, we treat chasing dreams like a fantasy -- it's easy to do, when things like money and rent and groceries and day jobs come into play. But you don't have to jump off the cliff solo: Start building your wings. Inch toward your dream. One foot in front of the other. Take the step. 　　Academic dress for graduations started in the 12th and 13th centuries when universities first began forming. Whether a student or a teacher, standard dress for scholars was clerical garb. 　　In 1321, the University of Coimbra mandated that all Doctors, Bachelors, and Licentiates must wear gowns. In the latter half of the 14th century, excess in apparel was forbidden in some colleges and prescribed wearing a long gown. By the time of England's Henry VIII, Oxford and Cambridge began using a standard form of academic dress, which was controlled to the tiniest detail by the university.

　　阎王听了《屁颂》，高兴得喜形于色，便随即下令给秀才再增10年阳寿，立马放回阳间，让他再享10年人间快活。

　　这秀才在阳间是怎么过的，《屁颂》虽然没有明白交代，但可以想象，凭他能作《屁颂》的能耐，能够糊弄住神灵的阎王爷，在人间当然更是能把“屁话顶用”运用得出神入化。无非见到他的主子就投其所好，拍马逢迎，曲意奉承，乃至吮痈舐痔，只要把管得着他的人弄得舒服就行。如此，想聚财，何愁不财源滚滚？想当官，何愁不步步高升？自然就享不尽的荣华宝贵。这不是我的胡乱猜测，《屁颂》一文中有暗示：在这位秀才“10年限满，再见阎王”的时候，他的神气是“志气舒展”，向森罗殿走过来的时候也是“摇摆而上”，连阎王一下子也认他不出来，其小人得志之态，跃然纸上。
